Here you can find everything about Shopstory's data protection & data collection within our software and on our website.

In our software

We take data privacy seriously and want to let you know how we handle your data in our software. The following is an overview of what data we collect and how we use it.

Inspector data

For the Inspector we do store the data of your last 5 executions. This data is stored on AWS in Frankfurt.

Error messages

If errors occur, these are logged with our monitoring services. Logtail primarily stores this data in the EU, while Sentry is based in the USA. Further information can be found in the privacy policies of Logtail and Sentry.

Transfer of data to third parties

If a flow is configured to send data to third parties (e.g. if you submit data to Google Sheets), this data will of course end up with Google. Please refer to Google's privacy policy.

PostHog

We use PostHog to track your user interactions. PostHog is based in the EU and you can view their privacy policy here. PostHog's privacy policy also includes a translation of the legal text into plain English.

Marker.io

We use Marker.io for error reporting within the software. Data is transferred when initiated by the end user by reporting a problem. A screenshot can also be attached and the browser error log (console logs) and information about the browser and the device are also sent. The email and the name of the active account are also sent.

On the website

We take data protection seriously and want to let you know how we handle your data on our website.

Declaration on the duty to inform (privacy policy)

The protection of your personal data is of particular concern to us. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this data protection information, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing on our website.

The information generated in this way is transferred to the provider's server and stored there; you can prevent this by setting your browser so that no cookies are stored. We have concluded a corresponding contract with the provider for order data processing. Your IP address is recorded, but immediately pseudonymised [e.g. by deleting the last 8 bits]. As a result, only a rough localisation is possible. data processing is carried out on the basis of the legal provisions of § 96 para. 3 TKG and Art 6 para. 1 lit a (consent) and/or f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR. our concern within the meaning of the GDPR (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offer and our website. As the privacy of our users is important to us, the user data is pseudonymised [pseudonymisation is recommended for the legal ground of "legitimate interest"; this must be clarified with the web analysis service].

Newsletter

You have the option of subscribing to our newsletter via our website. To do this, we need your e-mail address and your declaration that you agree to receive the newsletter. As soon as you have registered for the newsletter, we will send you a confirmation e-mail with a link to confirm your registration. You can cancel your subscription to the newsletter at any time. Please send your cancellation to the following email address: office@shopstory.io. We will then immediately delete your data in connection with the newsletter dispatch. This cancellation does not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the cancellation.

Google Ads

Account information is obtained via access to Google Ads in order to ensure auto-completion for project settings. In addition, so-called operational activities are also carried out via the interface, including the creation and pausing of campaigns, ad groups, ads and associated keywords. Statistics on keywords are also retrieved via this interface.

Search Console

Access to the Search Console ensures that Shopstory can query past keywords and URLs with the respective performance. This is necessary because Shopstory can also use SEA efficiency and SEO recommendations to check how they have performed.

Google Analytics

Account information is obtained through access to Google Analytics, which is used for auto-completion in project settings. In addition, the Reporting API is used to check the traffic of the individual URLs, which is used to continuously check the implemented recommendations, such as SEA efficiency.
